Post box

1 min read

Just a thought…
Why is there no post box around the biggest interchange and one of the major train station in England? All post boxes are about 1/2 mile from the main entrance of Clapham Junction station.
As Clapham Junction’s post office doesn’t even have a post box outside the office hour, is there a specific policy to restrict residents to post their mail in the area?
Train stations are major traffic points, we would expect a post box available, as for Putney station (picture). Sometime improvements can be small, not too expensive but highly noticeable.

Clapham Junction Insider (formerly known as the CJAG website) has been publishing local news for over 14 years and remains committed to providing information about the local community and engaging in public interest journalism.

Our goal is to feature a wide range of community campaigns and initiatives, local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, and provide assistance to residents.

We have always been dedicated to these endeavours and have no intention of changing. In fact, we would like to expand our efforts further.

Until recently, all the stories, analyses, and reports published have been made possible with the invaluable help of many volunteers. However, it requires a significant amount of time and effort, and we are frustrated that we cannot do more. There are numerous topics we would like to cover, but we require financial resources to provide regular information.

Therefore, we kindly ask our readers to consider offering financial support to sustain these efforts. Any contributions made will help support community and public interest news, as well as the expansion of our coverage in this area.

  1. At the risk of sounding sarcastic this is Such a good point and it would be great to get an answer!
There used to be postboxes in the wall of the post office, but these were boarded up and I guess replaced with the one in the sorting office. I seem to remember the one by Donna Margarita being boarded up around the same time, although it’s working now – perhaps there was a outbreak of misuse in 2003 that we’re still being punished for?!
Either way, the post office isn’t That near the station anyway – a station post box would be great.
    This shows where they are:
I’m always surprised how many there are considering they never seem to be in the direction that I’m heading…
