If you’re looking for Christmas celebrations in Wandsworth, this post highlights a variety of events, including seven Christmas carol concerts taking place in Battersea and Wandsworth in 2024.
Clapham Junction & Santa’s Grotto / Northcote Road Christmas light switch-ons
Date – Friday 22nd November 2024

It has already started with Battersea High Street lights switch-on and carol singing last Saturday. It will be Christmas celebration tonight for Clapham Junction and Northcote Road and other places in the borough will follow until Friday 6th December.
The lights will be switched on by Deputy Mayor of Wandsworth, Cllr Finna Ayres and, along with all the festive fun, you’re invited to pay a visit to Santa and his little helpers in the Hampton’s Santa’s Grotto for a special Christmas gift!

Santa’s Grotto at Battersea Arts Centre
Dates – 29 Nov to 24 Dec 2024
Time – Thursdays – 3:30pm to 6:30pm / Fridays – 3pm to 7:30pm / Saturdays and Sundays – 10am to 5:30pm

Santa Claus is coming to town and making a scheduled stop at Battersea Arts Centre. Little ones can share their Christmas wishes, get their name added to the nice list and receive a gift from Santa himself, creating lasting memories for the whole family this December.
Booking is mandatory as you need to reserve a slot. Bookings slots available every half-hour (Please note that you may need to queue for a short time before meeting Santa). Tickets: Weekday tickets: £12* per child and Weekend tickets: £15* per child

Wandsworth Town Christmas Festival in Southside
Date – Saturday 30 November 2024
Time – from 10.30am
Location – Burntwood Ln, London SW17 0AQ
Hosted by Wandsworth Town, the festive fun kicks off from 10.30am with a whole host of family friendly entertainment, fun and games – and it marks the launch of the Southside Grotto will be open on 30th November too!
Events will be taking place across Wandsworth all day long, including the fabulous makers’ market from Go Inspire at Ram Quarter, a live broadcast from Riverside Radio throughout the day from the Southside piazza plus live performances from local talent too, including music, dance and theatre.
The day will end with the official Christmas light switch-on event outside Southside from 4:30pm, where the Mayor of Wandsworth will also join in the festive fun!
Tickets are available to purchase on the day at Mind’s stall at the Christmas market in Ram Quarter, and the raffle will be drawn at 4:15pm at Riverside Radio’s stage on Southside’s piazza, right before the Christmas lights go on.
This year’s Christmas Festival event will go directly towards supporting the Wandsworth Town BID charity partner Mind Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster
Wandsworth Mayor’s Charity Carol Concert 2024
Date – Tuesday 3 Dec 2024
Time – 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

A celebration of Christmas and music brought to you by schools in Wandsworth and the Wandsworth Music Academy Junior Orchestra and Youth Choir. Proceeds go towards the Mayors 2024/25 charities: Homestart Wandsworth, Rackets Cubed and Tooting Community Kitchen.
Tickets are £7 per adult, £1 per child under 11. They can be purchased on eventbrite or on the door. We cannot guarantee that there will be tickets available on the night, sales will cease after 6.30pm, so we advise purchasing in advance to avoid disappointment. Children under 5 can attend free of charge.
Holy Trinity Christmas Carol Concert
Date – Thursday, 5 Dec 2024
Time – 6pm-8pm
Location – Holy Trinity Church, Beaumont Road, SW19 6SP
The Holy Trinity Christmas Carol concert will have mulled wine, mince pies, and a charity raffle to raise money for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. Throughout the evening there will also be musical performances from professionals, cheerful carols and readings from some special guests.

Battersea Christmas Carol Concert [currently sold out]
Date – Thursday 5 and Friday 6 December 2024
Time – Doors will open at 7pm, the concert begins at 7:30pm.
Location – St Luke’s & Christ Church, Sydney Street, London, SW3 6NH.
Guests will be welcomed by some incredible rescue dogs. You can also enjoy popular carols and beautiful music from Collegium Musicum of London Chamber Choir (CML), as well as featured duo Classical Reflection.
With special guests and friends of Battersea (both human and canine), you will be served mulled wine and mince pies to be enjoyed by all. You can also pick up some Christmas gifts from the Battersea shop!
All the money raised will help Battersea bring in animals from the cold and give a warm welcome, love and expert care to the dogs and cats that need us.

Christmas Nativity Fun Run
Date – Saturday 7th December 2024
Time – Registration opens at 10am
Location – Bandstand on Clapham Common
Just as the shepherds “hurried to Bethlehem” – come and join in the fun with us, on Saturday 7th December and get your Christmas spirit in motion. Run, Walk, Roll or Wheel your way to CAFOD’s Christmas Nativity Fun Run!
The event is organised by CAFOD. They are an international development charity who reach out to people living in poverty with practical help, whatever their religion or culture. Through their global partner network, one of the largest in the world, they have the potential to reach everyone.
Tickets are £12 per adult, £6 per child, or £22 per family. Plus, if you raise £100 or more, they’ll send you a free CAFOD running vest as a special thank-you from their team!
Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert

Get into the holiday spirit with the Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert on Sunday 8th December at the Wandsworth Civic Suite for an afternoon filled with festive tunes and cheer. Talented musicians will delight you with classic Christmas carols and symphonic masterpieces.

Christmas Carol Service in Battersea

Christmas Carol Concert in aid of KLS
Date – Tuesday 10th December 2024
Time – 7-8pm
Location – St Mary’s Church, Battersea, Battersea Church Road London SW11 3NA
Join a spectacular Christmas Carol concert, for the 100th anniversary of Katherine Low Settlement (KLS). Choirs performing will be from St Mary’s Church, Thomas’s School Battersea and Francis Holland School Sloane Square, as well as various celebrity readings.
Sing along to your favorite seasonal songs and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Bring your friends and family for a memorable evening filled with music and goodwill. Come and sing your heart out to your favourite carols and help raise money for KLS! Proceeds from this event will go towards the KLS100 Building appeal to renovate the premises at 108 Battersea High Street.

Community Christmas Celebration at the Royal Academy of Dance
Date – Friday 13th December 2024

Location – Battersea Power Station Community Choir
The Royal Academy of Dance invites the local community to join its festive Christmas celebration! Following the success of last year’s event, this year’s festivities promise to be just as joyous. Highlights include carols performed by the Battersea Power Station Community Choir, arts and crafts, refreshments, and a special performance by the Academy’s talented students.
Guests can also join in the fun with two exciting line dancing workshops, where you can groove to your favorite Christmas tunes. The workshops will take place at 17:15–17:45 and 18:00–18:30, followed by student performances from 18:00–18:30 and carol singing from 18:30–19:00.
The event is open to everyone, with line dancing activities best suited for those aged 6 and up.
